Grand Opening event a resounding success
On Saturday, 15 November, City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna officially opened the Council’s $80 million Rhodes Recreation Centre.
“With more than 18,000 people expected to call Rhodes home by 2036, the Centre underpins our commitment to providing high-quality community and recreation spaces for residents," said Mayor Megna.
Thousands of community members attended the Grand Opening of the brand-new facility on Saturday, 15 November 2025.
Each corner of the Centre was activated with a captivating performance or activity. From demonstrations by world-champion football trickster Adrian Krog, to art workshops, sports challenges, and awe-inspiring contortionist, chair-stacking and acrobatic performances, there was something for everyone.
Thank you for joining us to celebrate this milestone moment for the Rhodes community
